Huntingdon Methodist Church

Mission in HMC

Mission is the spreading of the love and good news of Jesus Christ.

So how does HMC do this?

THROUGH OPEN DOOR - we welcome all who come into our Church with service and compassion - Open Door - 10 am to Noon every week day.

THROUGH WHITECHAPEL MISSION - some of our members spend time at Whitechapel Mission each month, helping with admin and serving breakfasts.

THROUGH PRAYER - we pray for our town and community, on a regular basis, and work locally in Victoria Square.  We are an active part of the annual Victoria Square Fete and we take gifts from door to door at Christmas and at Easter, with a message of care, to the people in the streets near our Church.

THROUGH OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD - The Shoebox appeal each year takes ’love in a box’ to 1000s of children in Eastern Europe and beyond around Christmas time.

THROUGH SPECIAL EVENTS - we recently had a weekend when we learned about Bible Translation and in particular about the work of the Bible Society in Papua New Guinea.  We try to hold an event like this every year.

THROUGH BEING SALT & LIGHT IN THE WORLD - above all we seek to talk to the people we meet every day, in and outside of Church, in such a way that they would desire to know more of the Jesus we love and serve.

Best Wishes in Christ.

Come and join us in this wonderful adventure.
