Outreach activitiesSome of Huntingdon Methodist’s current Outreach projects include: Open DoorOpen Door is an outreach project which literally opens the church every weekday morning from 10 o’clock to 12 o’clock. The church is open to visit and take tea, coffee and often cakes from the Open Door kitchen. This attracts all ages – from local schools visiting the church to more senior members of our local community. So, if you would like some refreshment, come along and give Open Door a try. Seeker ServicesTogether with a number of other local churches, Huntingdon Methodist runs a series of seeker services, for people who want to know more about the big issues in life. The theme of these services – which take the form of a meal (at no cost!) followed by a talk and discussion have proved very popular. Times and dates vary so contact us for further details. WhitechapelHuntingdon Methodist is one of the many churches which support the Whitechapel mission in London. On a regular basis, church members will drive down to the mission with supplies of food, clothing and toiletries that we have collected. We also have small groups who arrange to go down on some Bank Holiday and weekend mornings to help prepare and serve breakfast or sort out the clothing that has been donated. For more details see www.whitechapel.org.uk. Samaritan’s PurseEvery Christmas, volunteers from Huntingdon Methodist Church coordinate the region’s Samaritan’s Purse collection. This activity produces thousands of parcels to be sent to children all over the world. Recently Huntingdon Methodist’s Samaritan Purse activities have centred on producing parcels for Eastern Europe.
